The T5 fluorescent tube is a type of fluorescent lamp (also known as a fluorescent light, tube light, or fluorescent tube). It has a diameter of 5/8 inches, approximately 16 millimeters, and belongs to low-pressure gas-discharge lamps.
It uses an electric field to activate mercury vapor in an argon-neon mixture (Pene gas), forming a plasma discharge that emits short-wave ultraviolet light, causing the trichromatic fluorescent powder on the inner wall of the tube to emit visible light. Due to its advanced technical performance, energy-saving feature, high luminous efficacy, excellent lighting quality and effects, and other technical characteristics, it is replacing T8 fluorescent tubes at a relatively fast pace.
